Very hardy bamboo with red canes which can reach up to 15 feet depending on the form.
The leaves are delicate, borne on clusters of thin branches which spring from the nodes on the canes.
They grow best in a spot that is sheltered from midday sun but that gets some sun during the early part of the day.
With its upright habit, makes an excellent container specimen, but like all bamboos grown in containers, it must be kept well watered.
Soil: Prefers moist, well drained soil
Position: Full sun part shade
Season of Interest: Evergreen, red canes
Hardiness: Hardy
Height: (3-4m)

Pot size 7 liters
1.7m in height
"Red Dragon" and "Fargesia Jiuzhaigou" are the same thing. "Red Dragon" is a cultivar (a variety of a plant) of the clumping bamboo species Fargesia jiuzhaigou, known for its distinctive red canes. The bamboo species is named after the Jiuzhaigou Valley, a national park in China, where it is native.
